While the city and its developers of choice have been working on their proposal to turn a huge parking lot in Mission Bay into a walkable, sustainable, transit village with an epic park, a bunch of architecture students over at UC Berkeley have also been fine-tuning on their own parallel masterpieces. Following today’s story about Mission Rock’s downsizing, a reader sent us a couple images from an early Pocky-fueled concept he and his team imagined in lieu of the grand park at water’s edge. Rather than a lawn, they proposed a wetlands, and what looks to be farmy stuff on the piers. Interesting… but where’s the outdoor movie screen?
