2009_05_7eleven.jpgChain convenience store 7-Eleven couldn’t convince city officials last year to let them open shop in Chinatown, but they’re still moving ahead to expand elsewhere in the city. They faced an uphill battle in Chinatown anyway— the neighborhood is one of three that bans chain stores outright. According to the company, four more are San Francisco-bound, and they’re looking at, according to the Examiner, “downtown, light-industrial areas, shopping centers and suburban neighborhoods.” The plan is to scoop up mom-and-pops that are struggling to stay open.
