As reported a couple months ago, the former porn studio at 942 Mission is set to return to the earth, and reawaken as a 15-story, 172-room hotel that’ll also have office space and ground-floor retail. Mak Hotel is setting down within striking distance of the Moscone Center and the new babe on the block, Mint Plaza. Brought to us by Mint Developers and Stanton Architecture, the building will require the demolition of the old Kink.com building. According to the last SF Business Times story on the project, the shorter street frontage on Mission will “blend seamlessly” with adjacent buildings, while the taller, set-back portions will be more contemporary. And, as is all the rage nowadays: green will sprout on the sixth-floor roof, so visitors can sleep with all eco-holiness intact.
