The old brown state building at Golden Gate and Polk has mostly been jackhammered to pieces and carted away, leaving a gaping hole where once the Trader Vic’s neighbor stood. No telling when the eco-friendly SF Public Utilities Commission headquarters slated to take its place might break ground, but for now, 525 Golden Gate’s all about the nothing.
