The game of red light green light ends for 1960 Market St, which will live to see the light of day. An appeal by the building union of the project was unanimously spurned by the Board of Supes yesterday. It was the first time the building trades council had fought a project on environmental grounds, but their secretary-treasurer apparently wrote in an August email that “an all-union project is my bottom line.” In any case, their battle’s been lost, and so has a separate, neighborhood appeal of the Arquitectonica-designed residences that said the overly large building would block light and views. Chalk one win for Brian Spiers, developer.
